My dear sister Sam the brave, with love

One of the bravest, smartest, hysterically funny and beautiful women I know, also my baby sis, survived the detachment of the retina in her right eye 1 year and 1 day ago today. For a day, she was blind in her right eye and we did not know how it was going to end. But she survived, and not only survived but is seeing better than she has in all her years on the planet – science and mircales collide. A few months after the first surgery, she went in for a second one in her other eye to balance her vision. 95% blind for 31 years, 95% sighted for 1 year. My sister’s world is safe, for the first time in her life. She has always seen everything but now with her eyes too.
This moment here is to record my gratitude. A genetic beauty – Sam the brave
