Photo Friday – Up In The Air

A month ago, I left my favourite city after a four-week stay. Truth be told, with Gaza on my mind, it feels most bizarre that life just carries on in the rest of the world. With nowhere to channel my restlessness, anger and sadness at the violence perpetrated against a people, I have to just keep on putting one foot in front of the other. I have the great fortune of seeing my nieces and nephew at home safe, enjoying their summer holidays in the UK. But this has not been the fate of too many children in this latest war.
So today I am thinking of a world with no war, no hate, where we all live in freedom, equal value is placed on every human life, justice and peace for all. Sometimes up in the air is the only place where it all seems possible. Photos taken over the mountainous Western Cape, South Africa.

  1. Very beautiful words of emotion and some grand photos from “up in the air” It is difficult to understand but so true, that no matter what happens, we have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. “equal value is placed on every human life” well said. Take care of you xx
